Number Crunching and Taking Action - 2025/26 Case Studies


For Number Crunching:

Take a look at an individual Case Study from the Number Crunching column.

Calculate the TRANSFER benefits payable (using the appropriate Scheme Booklet and Tables of Factors).

Check your answers against the answers provided in the Answer column.

For Taking Action:

Take a look at the information required to be communicated in the Letter associated with a chosen Case Study from the Taking Action column.

For the purposes of the CPC examinations, learners will be presented with a draft Letter which will be associated with one of the Case Studies.  Learners will then be expected to:

a) Transcribe data required to be populated in the draft Letter accurately from their Case Study answers to the answer box.

b) Identify and detail basic expected information not communicated in the draft Letter to the answer box.

c) Identify and correct information wrongly communicated in the draft Letter to the answer box.
